On Friday 6 th May the Whiteshill and Ruscombe Community Choir was very happy to
perform before a warm and receptive audience of around 60 people at The
Ruscombe Chapel.
The Choir sang a varied 90 minute programme which included;
“Moon River”, from the musical Breakfast at Tiffany’s; “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen;
as well as “Human” by Rag & Bone Man.
There were some lovely solos and duets from members of the choir,
a new feature for our concerts. Plus our very enthusiastic audience joined
in with gusto for the singing of two favourites “Oom Pah Pah” and
“Consider Yourself” from Lionel Bart’s “Oliver”.
A successful concert thanks to our musical director Luc Bailey, who coped with his usual
professionalism and good humour. Thank you Luc.
We are delighted that we raised £377 for Chapel Funds and
Brenda and her helpers also made over £50 from refreshments.
Thank you for inviting us to perform and thank you to the audience
for your support.
P.S We meet in Whiteshill and Ruscombe Village Hall, (weekly during school term times), on Wednesdays from 7:30 until 9:00pm. If you are interested in joining the Choir, why not come along to a free taster session – no auditions necessary!
