Who We Are

The choir assembled in Whiteshill Village Hall

On the outskirts of Stroud our home is the parish of Whiteshill and Ruscombe. Formed in March 2013 with a membership 30-40 people of all ages and abilities.
Rehearsals are in Whiteshill village hall each Wednesday during school term times, 7:30 to 9pm.

W&RCC is an inclusive mixed voice community choir welcoming people from 18 years of age onwards.

We are a contemporary choir – priding ourselves on tackling music that covers a range of styles and enjoying a laid back, fun and social time during rehearsals and performances.

Although there are no auditions to join and no prerequisites of having choral experience, we strive to deliver high quality concerts so we require commitment to rehearsals, learning harmony and melody parts outside of rehearsals and a desire to become better musicians.  You do not have to be able to read music to join. Many of us learn from vocal recordings that our Musical Director provides.

The choir aims to learn several new pieces of music every term as well as revising repertoire from previous terms / years and it is strongly encouraged that we perform our music without folders during concerts.

Membership costs £6 per session which may be paid termly, monthly or annually. This pays for room hire and for our talented young musical director, Luc Bailey. Luc injects loads of enthusiasm into rehearsals which are always fun and uplifting. Although we often use sheet music, the ability to read music is not required.

If you’d like to know a little of what we look like or sound like, please check out our recordings page or photo album.

Thinking of joining? we’d love to hear from you! Please get in touch via our email.
